Home Care Provider Pilot Program
Home Care Provider Pilot Program
As of June 18, 2019, Canada launched two new Home Caregiver Pilot programs to support home support workers in immigrating to Canada. These programs replaced the Live-in Caregiver Program (LCP), which closed to new applicants on the same date. Under the new pilots, you may be eligible to apply for permanent residence if you have a valid job offer or relevant work experience in Canada as a caregiver, along with meeting all required eligibility criteria.
Introduction To Home Care Provider Pilot Program
The Home Child Care Provider and Home Support Worker pilots are dedicated immigration pathways for caregivers seeking work permits and, eventually, permanent residency after gaining sufficient experience in Canada.
There are 2 main categories for the Caregiver Pathways:
- Home Child Care Provider Pilot: For caregivers with work experience in NOC 4411 (excluding foster parents)
- Home Support Worker Pilot: For caregivers with work experience in NOC 4412 (excluding housekeepers)
