UK Start Up Visa Program
The UK Start-up Visa is a recently introduced category that has replaced the Tier 1 Graduate Entrepreneur visa program. Due to the requirement for endorsement, securing this visa can currently be challenging.
This visa is specifically designed for early-stage, high-potential entrepreneurs who are launching a business in the UK for the first time. Applicants can apply as early as three months before their intended travel date, and decisions on visa applications typically take a minimum of three weeks.
Unlike the UK Innovator Visa, the Start-up Visa does not require an initial investment of funds. However, applicants must not have previously established a business in the United Kingdom.
You’re eligible for this visa if:
- You plan to establish a business in the UK.
- You are a non-citizen of the European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland.
- You have obtained an endorsement from an approved UK higher education institution or a recognized business organization that supports entrepreneurs.
Start up visa Requirements
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You must meet the English language proficiency requirements.
- You must show proof of personal savings to support yourself while in the UK.
- Your business or business idea must be evaluated by an approved endorsing body.
